New job

Well, I will graduate in 10 days *May 9th* and I was offered a job in my field of study *psychology*. It is a youth treatment specialist. The hours are what I have wanted. It is part time, Mon.-Fri. During the summer the hours are 9 a.m-12p.m and during the school year the hours are Mon.-Fri. 4p.m-7p.m. The only problem would be the 9-12 shift but I think I have somebody lined up for that.

It is funny that I got this job because I have applied for a number of jobs *around 20* that do not need any kind of degree just a high school diploma and got turned down every time. It was so bad that I wanted to give up looking for jobs. I came across this one during my schools efair jobfair. This job needed a bachelor's degree, so I thought I would try.

It was the perfect hours, the perfect job that I wanted to do, & it made me feel like my degree wasn't a waste of time. I put my application in and they called me for an interview within a week. I went in for the interview and right away they were talking like I was hired. They would ask me if I had ever had any experience doing certain things, I said no and she would say "well can you learn?" I said of course, you have to start somewhere right? They would also say things like 'when' you train you will be working these hours and 'when' you start you will be on call and stuff like that so it was already promising in the interview.

I got a call today and she said they were still looking paper work over, but they wanted to call me and ask if I can start training next week. I don't know what my training hours will be.. I am guessing it will be the 4-7 because I will be doing some shadowing and that's what my job hours will be for the next couple months.

In every job you look to move up and this is what I want to do there. I would like to some day be a psychologist, hopefully for the same company. Once I get on my feet and learn the ropes, have a set schedule and know I can handle working and kids then I will eventually go back to school (hopefully online again) and get my Master's to be a psychologist.

New room sets

Well, we recently got Kiki a 'big girl' twin bed. She is doing really good and is so excited to go to bed now. Of course we had to get the head board and food board to match. We figured out that the foot board (which is just a book shelf that you can see on the left of the bed) will not fit in her room. It is one of those pieces that you can use just about anywhere.

I have wanted a new bedroom set for a couple years now, but have always put the kids first on their needs, but we thought it would be time for both mom and kids to get what they want. The hubby and I went to look at bedroom sets at Bedroom Expressions. This is a graduation, Mother's Day, birthday, & anniversary gift. We ordered what we wanted that day and is supposed to be delivered next Friday, *it was supposed to be last Friday April 24th but no one called or showed up*.

The little man is doing the army crawl, so we don't know if he is going to crawl like his sister did *on her hands and feet instead of her knees*. The kids and I were grocery shopping today and I kept making kisses sounds to the little man and all of a sudden he started making the kisses sound too. After we got home I got him to do it again, but of course the minute I got the camera out he wasn't doing it anymore.

I also got a 5 drawer storage chest that I have wanted for a while. This was supposed to be a gift for later but I found it under the pool table one night when the hubby was showing me a pool shot. So of course he had to put it together right away :)

New Bed

Kiki just got her own big girl bed. We bought her a twin bed with a bedroom set to match. She has been in a big girl bed for a while now, it was a toddler bed and we put a rail on it so she wouldn't fall out. She is really excited to get her bed.

This has been a big week for Kiki. She also wore panties out of the house for the first time since she has been potty trained. Usually we will have her in panties around the house but when we go shopping or out to eat we put a pull up on her. This week I thought I would try and put panties on her while we went to eat, she did great!! She did not have any accidents. The only thing we were worried about was her having an accident in the car while we were driving and not being able to be stop right away when she said 'potty'. We just tell her 'wait 1 minute' and she waits. She went out two times this last week with panties and didn't have an accident, the only time she wears pull ups now is nap time and bed time.

Update: The little man is getting up on his knees and scooting forward... not quit crawling yet, but give him a week or so. If he is as stubborn as his mom he will be crawling within a couple days.

We have been playing in a pool tournament for a couple weeks now. We have city tournaments for our pool leagues. I tried singles last Sunday and didn't do very well. I consider myself a pretty good shot, but I get a little nervous when I am playing a major tournament *there are usually over 300 people at these pool tourneys*. I usually over think shots and mess up a lot. I got down to the 8 ball a couple of times and messed it up because I was thinking about the victory :)

The hubby did speed pool, that is his favorite activity in the pool tournaments. He qualified 4th and finished 4th. Last year he got 48 seconds on a rack and this year got 58 seconds. I was pretty impressed this year because one of the guys *a pretty good shot* got 38 seconds *which is damn impressive for speed pool*. Then I got home and one of my friends told me that another pretty good shooter got 39 seconds. That is pretty rare since the pros shoot speed pool in about 1 min. 10 on average. I went along and watched for a couple hours, they had draw your partner scotch doubles so I thought I would give that a try. My partner and I were done right away *sad*. I hung around and played a couple minis and watched speed pool for a little bit. My hubby always impresses me with speed pool:).

This weekend is more pool tourneys. This time it is team. My team got put into the "A" division, which is a pretty tough bracket. The hubby is not playing on our team. We have a couple B players, one C player, one master and one A player, so our team should do pretty good. The kids are going to nana's for a night or two. The team event doesn't start until 6:30 p.m on Friday and the last match is usually called after 11 p.m. so it is going to be a long night and we don't want to worry about what time to get home. Should be a fun and eventful weekend. I hope we do good and I don't let down my team.

The little man is sitting up pretty good now and rolling all over the floor. It will be any day now and he will be crawling, he is getting frustrated because he can't reach something so he will try and scoot. We went grocery shopping yesterday and we sat him in the grocery cart by himself without his car seat. He looked like a big man. He was so proud of himself at first, he was laughing and talking the first 15 minutes we were in the store then towards the end he started getting tired.

Kiki has been potty trained for a while now, we usually just take her panties off and lift her up to the potty and sit her on it. But recently we went out and bought a kid step stool for the bathroom and now she does it all herself. She gets the step stool out of its spot and sets it in front of the toilet, stands on it and pulls down her panties, we still have to lift her onto the toilet though because she is still short *kind of like her mom*. Then she will get the toilet paper by herself, wipe, we lift her down and she pulls up her pants and flushes, then she puts the step stool back where it goes and washes her hands. Sometimes I forget that she is only 28 months old.

I just started giving the little man a 'big boy' bath in the big bath tub. He is out growing his baby bath tub. I gave Kiki and the little man a bath together, it was so cute to watch. Kiki has her own bath puff, she wanted her body wash on it so I gave her some, the next thing I knew she was leaning over and washing the little man with it. She is very helpful with him.

Keira has had a sippy cup since she was 9 months old, and has been using a 'big girl' cup off and on when she eats lunch or is at her table. I decided the last couple of weeks to put her sippy away and only use a big girl cup. So now she has been off her sippy for about a week now and doing really good. We thought about using her sippy only when we went shopping or to eat, but we forgot it one day and she did really good without it, so now it is a big girl cup from now on. The kids' ped. told us that the little man could start using a sippy all ready. That seemed a little strange to me since he is only 6 months old. Maybe early in his 7 months I will introduce it to him and see how he does.
