Well, we went to Columbus this weekend to play in some pool tournaments. Friday was singles for those who signed up a couple months in advance. I was not planning on going Friday so I didn't sign up, but I wound up going on Friday because the arrangements with the kids worked out. The kids were nanna's Friday night and most of Saturday night. Dan played in the "open" singles and didn't do very well. We played in a couple mini tournys they had that night, didn't do very good in those, I can chalk it up to being up at 4:30 that morning and playing at 10 p.m at night. Needless to say it was a long day for both of us.

Saturday was teams, me, Dan, and a couple other guys from Seward were on a team. Our first match was at 9 a.m Saturday. We won so we had to play right away again, we lost the next match which put us in the loser's bracket. We got done about 12 and thought we had to be back at 1 for our next match, so we left to go eat, when we got back we got a bye, (which means we won the match we were supposed to play) so we didn't play until 3 (made for a long day). We wound up losing our match at 3 o'clock. We played a team that we knew from Lincoln, Jenny Nixon, Matt Nixon, Dan Cradick and some other guy, anyway we should never lose to them, and those of you who know them know we should have never lost to them. Losing that match made us available for the second chance tournament, we got 4th. We were all pretty sick of pool for a while.

We had a few teams that we knew from Lincoln playing. The team that Dan plays with on Wednesday nights won the "intermediate" team tourny.

My next tournament is the "B" and "C" tourny that Madsen's holds every year. Last year I played really well, so we'll see what happens this year.

Just relaxin'

Pretty relaxing morning. Keira is sitting on her pillow on the couch watching toons and Aden is still sleeping in his crib. Aden did wake up at 4:30 this morning, he goes back to sleep pretty easily after he eats. Not much planned for today just probably play on the floor with the kiddos.

I know Dan feels bad each night he plays pool and I appreciate everything he does. I got out a couple times by myself these last couple weeks. We didn't play our pool leagues because of Thanksgiving so I went to a pool tournament here in Lincoln at Drifter's. I am usually pretty nervous when it comes to pool tournaments because I am not as good as most of the people I play but I try. This was a nine ball tourny and they go by your ranking. I am rated a 3 (the lowest you can go), everyone else was rated at least a 4, the highest rating was a 9. I got a bye my first match, won my second, then lost and went into the loser's bracket. I won my first match in the losers bracket then ran into a 9 and lost. That week I got 7th out of 18 ,that is pretty good for me. I went to the pool tourny again last week because it was my turn to be off of leagues for the week. I went to the same place. This time I lost right away so I was in the loser's bracket. I won my second, third, and fourth match, so by then I was in the money. I finally met my match with a 9 player again and lost. I got 5th out of 22 that day, cashing out $15 for the day only making $2.

I really enjoy the time with the kids, but I enjoy the time to myself as well. I really appreciate everything Dan does for me. I know I don't show it enough or tell him enough. I don't know how he does it, going to work everyday then coming home and caring for the kids while I do my homework.

Well, better go for now and spend some time with the kids.
