Best Day of the Week
Monday, October 10th

I posted earlier that Keira has a new "boy"friend in school. Well, she made him a little heart, cut it out and colored it for him. She brought it to school on Monday and gave it to him. His mom just melted, she thought it was sooo cute. She handed it to him and walked away fast, mostly because she was embarrassed. She came over to stand by me and a few seconds later he came back and started talking to her. He said, thank you, this is really nice.

I got to talking to his mom in the parking lot after school and I guess the feeling is mutual between the two kids. I guess he talks about Keira to his grandparents and sometime during the weekend they were talking about buying Keira something.

Even though she will be crushed when she starts kindergarten and he is not there, the joy on her face to see that someone "special" everyday is worth it right now.

Keira started school August 29th. This is the last week I have nothing to do before the week of September 12th. Then we are super busy for a couple of months....

Keira starts swimming September 12. Aden also starts swimming Sept. 12. Keira and Aden start Sunday School Sept. 11th. I start pool leagues September 13th. Dan starts pool leagues Sept. 14. Keira starts dance September 14th. Aden starts music school September 15th. Aden and Taygen also have Dr. appts in between these things.

Here's our schedule for the next couple months.

Keep in mind that Keira has school Mon., Wed., & Fri. from 12:30-3:00. It all starts September 12th....This week Sept. 12-16th will be especially busy with Aden and Taygen's well child checks. I used to do them on the same day, but I don't feel that they get enough attention when they go on the same day because they try to hurry the appt. along. I Don't mind the busy schedule! I like being busy! It feels like I am accomplishing something during the day other than laundry and cleaning.

Mondays

  • School 12:30-3:00
  • Aden 3 year Dr. appt. 1:15 (Sept. 12th)
  • Swim- Keira & Aden 6 p.m
Tuesdays
  • Nothing during day (our relaxing day!)
  • Pool for me 7 p.m
Wednesdays
  • Taygen 18 month Dr. appt. 9:30 (Sept. 14th)
  • School 12:30-3:00
  • Keira's dance 4:50-5:20
  • Home by 5:30, cook supper
  • Dan home by 6:30, eat, then be at pool by 7
Thursdays
  • Aden's music class 10:30 a.m
  • Rest of the day is relaxing!
Fridays
  • School 12:30-3:00

Picking a Kindergarten

Well, I can't believe it but this time next year, 2012, we will already have Keira registered for kindergarten. This is a big deal for me! We are looking at building a new house, but Dan wants to wait 3-5 years. We are looking to build in the Fallbrook or The Bridges (Denton) area. Where we live now, Fallbrook, and the Bridges are all in different school districts. My problem with this is that I do not want to be living here when Keira starts school and then have to pull her out in the middle of the school year when we move and go to a different school. I want to know where we are going to build, the district, and the school before she starts school, so her, Aden & Taygen can all go to the same school without moving in the middle of the school year.

I am a very picky person! That's just me. It takes me 2 hours just to pick out a pair of shoes, ask Dan, it drives him crazy! I want them to go to a small school, where they will know every kid and I will know every parent. I want the teachers to know the kids by name and know some stuff about their lives. Right now Keira goes to a preschool with 16 kids, which is great! I know all the parents, sometimes we sit down and talk while we are waiting for the kids to get out of school. The parents look out for each kid like they are their own. Keira recently went to the zoo with her preschool for the letter Z and still had her cast on...I was really nervous about this, a couple of the parents must have noticed me about to cry when I loaded her up in the van to go, because one of them said, it's okay Amber we will watch out for her! And they did..one parent told me they kept her out of the sand so the sand did not get into her cast and walked around with her while the other kids were playing so she didn't feel left out.

Honestly, I do not want the kids to go to an LPS school, there are just way too many kids in the school district.  I want to move to a small town, so the kids can go to a school with less than 100 kids. I have even thought about private schools for the kids, Lincoln Christian is a very good private school. I know this sounds weird to some, but I don't want my kids to be just a number to the teachers or just another kid that  goes to that school. I want the kids to have the same friends in kindergarten that they do their senior year.

I went to York High School (the worst school, BTW, sorry guys) from 5th grade-junior year, I had the same friends from 5th grade thru high school, we moved, went to a different school, lost those friends, unfortunately I did not make anymore/new friends at my new school (although, some friends did follow me to the other school). I did not know anyone my first couple months, I was lost & scared and I don't want Aden, Keira, or Taygen to feel like that when they go to school. If Keira goes to an elementary school here in Lincoln & makes friends, when they have to change schools to a middle school, who knows if those friends will be able to go to that middle school. Where if you are in a small town, you do not have an option but to go to that elementary, middle, or high school because that is your only option (and that's what I want), but here in Lincoln there are 37 elementary schools, 11 middle schools, & 6 high schools to choose from when you leave/start school. Pretty sad!

I really have to stop stressing about stuff and just take the days as they come, that's just not me though! I have to have every thing planned out in advance and it drives me crazy if it is not.

Been a while...

I have not been on here as much as I planned. I have not been on here mainly because I have not had anything to say. This is the last week of classes for my 8 weeks classes, so I have been busy getting that done and organized. The kids are keeping me pretty busy also. My only time during the day for homework is when the kids are napping. Keira is down to one nap a day, she has been for about a year now. Aden and Keira are not on the same schedule for naps. Aden usually wakes up from his nap when I am laying Keira down, he will usually nap again about the last hour Keira is sleeping.

I can possibly get a 4.0 again this semester ***knock on wood*** When these two 8 week classes are done I still have 2 that were 16 week classes that are done in May. Don't know what we are planning yet for graduation. I know we are going to the ceremony, my parents and my husband's parents are going to be there as well. I think after we are just going to go out to eat with a bunch of friends and parents. Unless the hubby has anything planned for me **wink wink**

4 more to go......

One semester down one more to go. I only have 4 more classes left till I graduate. This semester I am struggling for some reason. I have only had 2 classes this last 8 weeks but one of my classes is kicking my butt! I am getting a C in one of my Pscyh. classes, which is very rare for me since I am used to getting As & Bs. Next Spring is going to be tough with my classes, I have 4 classes at the same time, 2 of them are 16 week and 2 of them are 8 week. The first 8 weeks with all 4 classes are going to be tough, but the last 8 weeks with only 2 classes should be pretty good. I am almost done with my finals for this semester, didn't really have any finals just a lot of 8-10 page papers. I have one 3 page paper and I will be done for this semester.

We went Christmas shopping this week and I think we are done. We are going to take Keira and Aden to see Santa some time this week, probably the weekend. It is time for Keira to know who Santa is and start getting excited about Santa coming. Dan is taking 2 weeks off between Christmas and New Years, looking forward to that :) I am thinking about making Christmas cookies with Keira as a start of a tradition each year, we will see how that goes... wish me luck :)
She is usually good about helping mommy, but she always wants to taste everything.

Our team had a pretty good night Sunday for leagues. We won all 6 and each of us shot in the upper 40s out of 50. I shot pretty good and beat Dan for the night, Dan shot a 42 and I shot a 43.
