The kids are feeling a lot better today. Aden still seems to be a little out of it, but Keira seems to be doing a lot better. I think a day (Sunday) of just being home and resting helped a lot.
Keira had school today and got to wear her costume. She was so excited. "Mom, do you think Seth will like my costume?" Then we came home (the kids wore their costumes the rest of the day), ate supper and went trick-or-treating about 6:30. It was such a nice night. Keira asked Siri what the weather was and it said 64 degrees.
Kids' Halloween costumes.....
on Aden sick, keira sick, Taygen sick
The kids were supposed to dress up in their Halloween costumes for Church this morning but Keira and Aden were up all night throwing up. Aden threw up 6 times last night and Keira threw up 3 times last night. The kids are still sick this morning, Aden has gotten sick 2 times and Keira has gotten sick 1 time today. Aden seems to be the worst. Keira seems to be doing better, I gave them Tylenol earlier and it seemed to make their fevers go away. It all started with Taygen getting sick before she went to bed then she was okay, no fever and just running around.
The kids were pretty disappointed that they didn't get to wear their costumes but Keira gets to dress up for school tomorrow (Monday), so that made her feel better. I am planning on letting Aden wear his costume tomorrow also, he doesn't understand why Keira gets to wear it and he doesn't.
on craft project, Halloween, pumpkins, silly faces
We don't carve pumpkins, never have. That's just not something we do. The first year we decided to have pumpkins for them, Keira and Aden just drew on them with permanent markers. This year I got some stickers from Oriental Trading to stick on their pumpkins and make faces. Here are some pictures of them working on them.
Each of their pumpkins already had paint on them from art class, they just put the faces over the paint (dry).
on aden, best day of the week, keira, Taygen
on bad day of the week, October 27th, Thursday
Thursday, October 27th.
Aden and Keira had their art classes today and Taygen and I just sat out and waited. Taygen decided that she wanted to throw up every where. Nice! She threw up all over her shirt and all over her blanky that she had with her. Luckily, I thought it was chilly enough for the kids to wear their jackets this morning because that's all she had to wear the half hour that we had left to wait. Her blanky and shirt were super messy, so I wrapped her shirt inside her blanky and put it in the diaper bag. Of course, she wanted her blanky, so I took it out and ran it under the faucet to clean it up a little and gave it back to her wet.
She was fine after she threw up, not sure why she did. She may be getting teeth. She usually gets a fever and really super sick when she is getting teeth. I should have known something was wrong when she was asleep by 8:30 p.m last night and not up until 9:45 a.m today, I had to wake her up because we had to go, I'm sure she would have slept later if I would have let her.
on Kindergarten, Norris
We have picked a kindergarten for Keira. We have her registered at Norris Public Schools. It is out of our district but we filled out an option enrollment form that qualifies her to go to school out of our district. We will find out the middle of March is she is accepted or not.
We were debating between Lincoln Lutheran, Lincoln Christian or Norris for schools. We picked Norris because they are one of the best schools and Dan's friend said her daughter went their and had nothing but nice things to say about that school.
We had to do the option enrollment because we do not live in the school district, which means they can tell us no if they choose (goes before a board and they decide based on a first come first serve bases). The only reason they can tell us no is if that grade fills up. The superintendent said that since she has been there (9 years) they have not turned anybody down for option enrollment. This year they were actually low in numbers for kindergarten enrollment. The siblings are supposed to be grandfathered in, but there is no guarantee for option kids, you have to be there for 2 years before option enrollment siblings are grandfathered in.
Our plan is to move closer, maybe build in the Hickman area. We were thinking about building in The Bridges area or Fallbrook area, but we want to be closer to the school so we don't have to worry about the kids getting into a school.
So, now we are just waiting until March to see whether or not Keira goes to kindergarten at Norris. Talk about a long wait!
on Good week, nothing happening, Taygen
Well, it's Wednesday and nothing too exciting has happened this week. Don't really have anything to write about for the kids. A very uneventful week here, don't know if that is a good thing of a bad thing :) I would have to say that is has been nice not having a "bad day of the week" yet :).
Although, Taygen did decide to take her pullup off downstairs while watching T.V. and walk around naked. It is so hard not to laugh at her though, she looks at you with those big blue eyes and you can't help but smile.
on field trip, keira, Pumpkin patch
Last Friday, October 14th, Keira went on a field trip with her school to Roca Berry Farm Pumpkin Patch. She was pretty excited because she got to spend the day with Seth and his mom. This was her second year going with her class, so I didn't go with her this time (went with her the first year).
Seth's mom went, so I wasn't too worried about Keira (even though I still cried when I buckled her in the van). It's always hard to let your child go on an outing with other students and not worry about them, they could get lost, hurt, or someone could snatch them.
Keira came home after school and told me how her day was. "Mom, I got to see Seth's mom, Seth Jr (Seth's brother), and Sethette (Seth's brother's twin sister).
Unfortunately, I don't have any pictures because I didn't go with her, but Seth's mom said she had some pictures of the two of them, so when I get the pictures from her I will post them.
